SWITCHING TO SCILLAN

Can I switch from another registered agent to SCILLAN?

Yes.
Existing eligible Texas entities may enroll in SCILLAN's Registered Agent + Compliance Alerts service and complete the required Change of Registered Agent process.

Is the Change of Registered Agent preparation included?

Yes.
Under SCILLAN's current service structure, preparation of the Change of Registered Agent is included with annual Registered Agent enrollment.
Applicable government filing fees may still apply.

Do I need to purchase Registered Agent service first?

The change process should be connected to the customer's SCILLAN Registered Agent enrollment.

GENERAL CHANGE PROCESS

How does switching registered agents work?

The general process may include:

1. Enroll in SCILLAN's Registered Agent + Compliance Alerts service.
2. Identify the legal entity being changed.
3. Provide the required entity information.
4. Complete any necessary authorization or verification.
5. SCILLAN prepares the applicable Change of Registered Agent filing.
6. Applicable government fees are paid.
7. The filing is submitted to the Texas Secretary of State.
8. The government processes the filing.
9. The registered-agent change becomes effective according to the applicable government record.

Does an active SCILLAN subscription mean the State has already updated the registered agent?

Not necessarily.
Subscription status and government filing status are separate.

Can Sia tell me the exact effective date?

Only if the effective change has been verified.
Otherwise, Sia should say:

Do I need permission from my current registered agent to switch?

Sia should not provide a legal determination about specific consent or notice obligations beyond the applicable approved filing process.
SCILLAN can assist with the administrative change process.

Should I cancel my current registered agent before the State approves the change?

Customers should avoid creating a gap in registered agent coverage.
The existing service relationship and the government change should be coordinated appropriately.
Sia should not advise a customer to terminate coverage prematurely.

Do I have to contact my old registered agent?

Contract cancellation requirements may depend on the customer's agreement with the existing provider.
SCILLAN cannot interpret another provider's contract.

Is the government Change of Registered Agent fee included in the $179?

Can Sia quote the government fee?

Only if the current government fee has been approved in SCILLAN's knowledge base.

Can the Change of Registered Agent filing be expedited?

Texas Express may be available for an eligible Texas Secretary of State filing.

How long do I have to use the Expo offer?

The customer must sign up for a Change of Registered Agent within:
48 hours following the applicable expo event

Does the Expo offer cover government fees?

No, unless the specific promotion expressly states otherwise.

Can I use SCILLAN's registered agent address for normal business mail after switching?

No.
SCILLAN's registered agent address is not a:

Does rejection mean SCILLAN is already my registered agent?

Sia should not assume the government record has changed.
