What types of documents may a registered agent receive?
Depending on the circumstances, registered agent communications may include:
- Service of process
- Lawsuit documents
- Summonses
- Citations
- Certain government notices
- Certain official legal correspondence
- Other documents properly delivered to the registered office
Does SCILLAN receive every government document for my company?
No.
Not every government agency sends documents to a registered agent.
Some notices may instead be sent directly to:
- The business address
- The mailing address on file
- The taxpayer address
- The responsible party
- The entity's officers or managers
- Another address maintained by the applicable agency
Customers remain responsible for monitoring all applicable business and government communications.
GENERAL BUSINESS MAIL
Can I use SCILLAN's registered agent address for regular business mail?
No.
SCILLAN's registered agent service is not a general business-mail service.
Can customers send invoices to the registered agent address?
No.
Routine customer, vendor, banking, or business correspondence should not be directed to the registered agent address.
Can vendors send contracts or routine correspondence there?
No.
The registered agent address is intended for official registered-agent communications, not everyday business correspondence.
Can I use the registered agent address as my mailing address?
Not as a general mailing address.
Customers should maintain an appropriate business or mailing address for routine correspondence.
Does SCILLAN provide a virtual mailbox?
No.
Registered agent service is not a virtual-mailbox service.
Does SCILLAN forward regular mail?
No.
Routine mail forwarding is not included in SCILLAN's registered agent service.
PACKAGES AND DELIVERIES
Can SCILLAN receive packages for me?
No.
SCILLAN's registered agent service is not a package-receiving service.
Can I send Amazon, FedEx, UPS, or other packages to the registered agent address?
No.
The registered agent address should not be used as a general shipping address.
What happens if routine mail or a package is sent there?
Sia should not promise that routine mail or packages will be accepted, stored, forwarded, or returned.

BUSINESS ADDRESS QUESTIONS
Can I use the registered agent address as my principal office?
Not automatically.
A registered office and a principal business office are different.
Customers should use the address appropriate for the specific filing, agency, or business purpose.
Can I use the registered agent address as my business address?
The registered agent address should not be treated as a general business address unless SCILLAN expressly authorizes that use.
Can I use the registered agent address for my bank?
SCILLAN should not guarantee that a bank will accept a registered agent address as the customer's business address.
Customers should follow the bank's requirements.
Can I use the registered agent address for Google Business Profile?
SCILLAN does not guarantee that the registered agent address qualifies under third-party platform requirements.
Customers should follow the platform's own rules.
SERVICE OF PROCESS
What is service of process?
Service of process is the formal delivery of legal documents in connection with a legal proceeding or other legally recognized matter.
Examples may include:
- Summonses
- Complaints
- Petitions
- Citations
- Subpoenas
- Other court or legal documents
What happens if SCILLAN receives service of process for my company?
SCILLAN will process the received document according to its registered agent procedures and provide notification or document delivery to the designated client contact through the approved method.
Customers should review legal documents promptly.
Will SCILLAN respond to the lawsuit for me?
No.
SCILLAN's role as registered agent is to receive and forward or deliver service of process.
SCILLAN does not:
- Respond to lawsuits
- File legal answers
- Provide legal defenses
- Represent clients in court
- Provide legal advice
Will SCILLAN tell me what the lawsuit means?
No.
Legal documents should be reviewed by a licensed attorney.
Can SCILLAN tell me what deadline applies?
SCILLAN should not provide legal deadline calculations or legal interpretation.

How will SCILLAN notify me when something is received?
SCILLAN's standard registered agent notification method is:

Customers should maintain a current and monitored email address with SCILLAN.
Does SCILLAN send text-message notifications?
No.
SCILLAN's standard registered agent notifications are email-based.
Can I choose SMS instead?
SMS reminders are not part of SCILLAN's standard registered agent notification service.
Will I receive an email every time SCILLAN receives an official notice?
SCILLAN will provide applicable notifications according to the registered agent service process.
Sia should not promise a specific notification workflow beyond the approved service terms.
Which email address will SCILLAN use?
SCILLAN will use the designated email address associated with the client or entity record.
Customers should keep this information current.
KEEPING CONTACT INFORMATION CURRENT
What happens if my email address changes?
Customers should update SCILLAN promptly.
Outdated contact information may delay the customer's awareness of important notices.
Is SCILLAN responsible if I do not update my email address?
Customers are responsible for maintaining accurate and current contact information.
Sia should not make legal determinations about liability.
Can I add multiple email contacts?
This depends on the current account and notification setup.

MISSING NOTICES
I received an alert but cannot find the document.
Customers should first check:
- Client Portal
- Approved document repository
- Email inbox
- Spam or junk folder
If the document still cannot be located, contact:
support@scillan.com
I think SCILLAN received a legal notice but I never received it.
This should be escalated for human review.
Approved response:
"Please contact SCILLAN Support at so the team can review the registered agent record and document-delivery history."
I changed my email and missed a notice.
Contact SCILLAN Support immediately and update the account information.
If the notice involves a legal document, consult a licensed attorney promptly.
LEGAL DOCUMENT URGENCY
What should I do if I receive a summons or lawsuit document?
Approved response:
"Legal documents may contain important deadlines. Please review the document promptly and consult a licensed attorney. SCILLAN cannot provide legal advice regarding the document."
What if the deadline is today?
The matter should be treated as urgent.
Approved response:
"This appears time-sensitive. Please review the legal document immediately and consult a licensed attorney. If you cannot locate the document SCILLAN received, contact ."
Can Sia explain whether I must respond?
No.
That requires legal advice.
GOVERNMENT NOTICES
Does SCILLAN receive Texas Secretary of State notices?
Certain notices may be sent to the registered agent or registered office, depending on the type of notice.
Sia should not promise that every Secretary of State communication will be received by SCILLAN.
Does SCILLAN receive Texas Comptroller notices?
Some Comptroller notices may be sent to addresses maintained by the Comptroller rather than the registered agent.
Customers remain responsible for monitoring their Comptroller communications.
Does SCILLAN receive IRS notices?
IRS notices are generally tied to federal taxpayer records and may not be sent to a state registered agent.
Customers should maintain accurate IRS mailing information.
COMPLIANCE ALERTS VS. OFFICIAL NOTICES
Are Compliance Alerts the same as registered agent notifications?
No.
These are different.
Registered agent notifications relate to official documents or notices received through the registered agent service.
Compliance Alerts are reminder communications related to applicable compliance deadlines.
What is the Compliance Alert schedule?
SCILLAN's current reminder schedule may include:
- 90 days before an applicable deadline
- 60 days before an applicable deadline
- 30 days before an applicable deadline
- 1 week before an applicable deadline
Does a Compliance Alert mean SCILLAN filed something?
No.
A reminder is not the same as a filing.
Some filings require a separate purchase, verification, authorization, or payment.
ANNUAL COMPLIANCE FILING SUPPORT
Does registered agent service include Annual Compliance Filing Support?
No.
Registered Agent + Compliance Alerts and Annual Compliance Filing Support are separate services.
SCILLAN's Annual Compliance Filing Support is:

CONFIDENTIALITY
Will SCILLAN post legal documents publicly?
SCILLAN should handle client documents through approved systems and procedures.
Sia should not make broader privacy promises beyond SCILLAN's approved policies.
Can Sia send me a summons in chat?
No.
Sia should not independently transmit confidential legal documents through an unsecured chatbot conversation.
Customers should use the Client Portal or approved secure delivery process.
REGISTERED AGENT DOCUMENT DELIVERY
Where will my registered agent documents be delivered?
Applicable documents may be delivered through:
- Client Portal
- Secure document repository
- Approved email notification
- Other SCILLAN-approved delivery methods
Can I request a paper copy?
Availability depends on the document and service.
Additional handling or delivery charges may apply where available.
Sia should not promise paper delivery unless confirmed.
MULTIPLE ENTITIES
I have multiple companies. Will legal notices be separated?
Yes.
Each legal entity should have its own registered agent record and document history.
Can a legal notice for one LLC be placed in another LLC's account?
No.
Documents should be associated with the correct legal entity.
If a customer sees another entity's document in the wrong account, escalate immediately.
WRONG ENTITY OR WRONG DOCUMENT
I received a notice that does not belong to my company.
Do not ignore it.
Contact SCILLAN Support so the document and entity record can be reviewed.
I see another client's legal document.
This is an immediate security escalation.
